近年来很多研究是关于脂滴(Lipid drops,LDs)与一些疾病的关系,比如脂肪肝、动脉粥样硬化、肾脏脂质代谢紊乱、肥胖症等。perilipin(PLIN)家族是目前研究较多的LDs结合蛋白。在哺乳动物中PLIN家族共有五个成员,分别是perilipin, adipophilin,TIP47, S3-12 和MLDP/OXPAT ,也叫做 PLIN1-5 ,分布在身体的各个部位。
